Application Support for Sage BusinessVision
The Sage BusinessVision application is a very dated application, and they OFFICIALLY will support users ONLY up to Pervasive PSQL v10
on the older versions, though word is that newer versions are now supported on Actian Zen v15. I recommend contacting Sage for the OFFICIAL line
on which database engine is supported for your particular version of the software. Of course, you can try upgrading to a newer version, but they
may disavow all support for your environment, so extreme caution is required here.
Further, if you have a running BusinessVision environment using the Pervasive PSQL v10 Workgroup Engine, the special licenses issued by BusinessVision have a Vendor ID of 5027 and
allow for a Maximum User Count (MUC) of 10. This means that you can add more concurrent users, but ONLY up to a maximum of 10 concurrent users.
If you have fewer than 10 users, then we may have User Count Increase licenses that can allow more concurrent users on your environment, so call us for details.
Finally, it MAY be possible to upgrade from the Workgroup Engine to a Server Engine for more concurrent users. However, this is getting into a gray area --
we do not know for sure if it will work, and we do not know if BusinessVision will support you on such an environment. I recommend contacting Sage for support details
before attempting such an upgrade, especially if ongoing support from them is required.
