This page shows pricing for the Actian Zen v14 product line (formerly known as Actian PSQL) from Actian Corporation (formerly Pervasive Software). The current version of this product is v14.20, but licenses purchased for Zen v14 will work across any release, including future service packs.

Actian Zen v14 Workgroup Engine New Purchases

These licenses are for 32-bit Workgroup Engine purchases, from stand-alone 1-user systems up to a MAXIMUM of 5 concurrent users in the database. Note that if you have an existing 1U or 3U base license, then you can purchase additional 1U and 2U User Count Increase (UCI) licenses to add users, but not exceed the maximum of 5 concurrent users.

Actian Zen v14 Enterprise Server Base Licenses

These licenses are for new Zen v14 Server engine purchases for any platform (Windows, Mac, Linux). These base licenses can be combined with User Count Increase licenses (below) to make other user count combinations. Officially supported operating systems include Windows 7 (and newer), and Windows Server 2008 R2 (and newer).

Actian Zen v14 Enterprise Server User Count Increase Licenses

The base Zen v14 (above) licenses are NOT stackable. To increase your user count, you must purchase additional "User Count Increase" (UCI) licenses to add to your base license to make larger (non-standard) user counts. This means that if you wish to obtain a 26 user license, you would purchase a 20U "Base" license and a 6U UCI for the server.

Actian Zen v14 Enterprise Server Upgrades From PSQL v13 (LIMITED STOCK)

These upgrades are valid for all users of Actian PSQL v13 database engines. Proof of ownership is required to obtain the upgrade price, and only BASE licenses can be upgraded (Not UCI's). You can upgrade to the SAME user count or to the NEXT USER COUNT HIGHER. The original product must be removed and destroyed.

Actian Zen v14 Enterprise Server Upgrades From PSQL v12 or Older (LIMITED STOCK)

Actian offering a special upgrade promotion from PSQL v12, but we cannot get any more, and quantities will be strictly limited to that which we have on hand. Once these run out, users of PSQL v12 or older will need to purchase NEW Zen v14 licenses or upgrade to PSQL v13 first, depending on which option is less expensive.

Actian Zen v14 Standalone Server Engines

These licenses are single-user, standalone licenses of the Zen v14 Enterprise Server Engine, which includes the Backup Agent and VSS Writer support. This license is designed for Developer use on Windows, Linux, or Mac environments, or for single-user systems which can benefit from the added security, speed and memory utilization of a true 64-bit Server Engine. IMPORTANT NOTE: Unlike the full server licenses above, these base licenses are NOT expandable with User Count Increases, and this license may NOT be used to add another user to an existing Server Engine license!

Actian Zen Cloud Server 14 Base Licenses

These licenses are for new server purchases, and you can have only ONE base license on each server. Licenses will work on any platform (Windows, Linux, Mac). Officially supported operating systems include Windows 7 (and newer), and Windows Server 2008 R2 (and newer). If you need to add more Data In Use, you can use a Data Size Increase (below) or a Size Upgrade (also below).

Actian Zen Cloud Server 14 Data Size Increases

Actian Zen Cloud Server (formerly Zen Vx Server) 14 base licenses come with a set data size allowance. To increase your Data Size, you can either purchase an upgrade to a larger size, or you can purchase additional "Data Size Increase" (DSI) licenses to add to your "base" license to use larger databases. If you only need a data size increase for a short time (until you can purge or archive data), then you may benefit from a temporary (60-day) increase instead. Confused? Actian Zen Cloud Server 14 Size Upgrades

If you have an existing license of Actian Zen Vx Server 14 and you need to move to a larger license, you can increase your data size with the Data Size Increases (above), or you can upgrade the license to a larger size. Proof of ownership is required to obtain the upgrade price. These licenses are applied on top of your current size to attain the new size.

Actian Zen Cloud Server 14 Sidegrades From Zen v14 Enterprise Server

Users of Zen v14 database engines can switch to Actian Zen Cloud Server 14 license model (i.e. a "sidegrade") at a discounted price, but only within certain defined sizes (shown here). Proof of ownership is required to obtain the upgrade price. The original product must be removed and destroyed.

Shipping and Taxes

Actian stopped production of the Media Kits, so all licenses are now delivered as electronic downloads only. If you prefer a paper copy, please request a copy of the license document and label when ordering. Sales taxes will be charged for all IL and IN destinations, unless a proper tax exemption form is provided. All other destinations will be responsible for self-assessing sales taxes where applicable.

On-Line: Visit shop2.goldstarsoftware.com to order products on-line from our secure storefront.
Pre-Paid: Contact Goldstar Software to determine the exact amount of the order. Mail your payment (Check payable to Goldstar Software Inc.) to our address (as shown on the Contact page) with the original quote or a written copy of your order. Please be sure to include all information, including version, platform, user count, and shipping method, where applicable. When we receive the payment, we will process the order and ship the software to you with a PAID invoice.
Purchase Order: To accept your company purchase order, we must have an open customer account set up. Please download the required forms and fill in the information requested. Then, you can mail or fax your forms with your P.O. directly to 928-833-3632. When your account is approved and created, the software will ship via the requested method. Credit Card: We can accept bank transfers or credit card payments, including Mastercard, Visa, Discover Card and American Express. To best protect your privacy, credit card orders are taken as web storefront or phone orders only, so contact us to place your order.
